"We were a bit reluctant at first since there was only one car in the parking lot and it does not look like a restaurant when you first walk in. Fortunately, we were soon met by Antonio who guided us to a small dining area with a great view of the city below. We were never presented a menu, but Antonio would list the short list of items available. Everything we ordered was relatively simple, but delicious. Throughout the meal, Antonio would stop by and talk to check on us and to provide more information on the Casa da Real Companhia, but not so much that it was distracting or overbearing. After the meal, he invited us to the terrace where he pointed out many of the sights in Lamego and made recommendations on what to see while we were there. It was a great experience overall, and surprisingly inexpensive!"

"Small place but characteristic. We have ordered a soup of the day, a stewed goat and a grilled trout with ham, two desserts and house’s wine. We have paid 22,50€! The goat was incredible but the trout nothing special. Unfortunately We didn’t appreciated the two desserts. However it’s a place that deserves to be visited."

"My husband and I enjoyed a fabulous afternoon with Countess Maria at her estate just outside of Lamego. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with open arms and an open heart. During a tour of the grounds and her magnificent home, Countess Maria shared her family's experiences through a monumental period in Portugal. We then proceeded to a historical kitchen, where we had the experience of cooking a delicious traditional lunch over a wood fired hearth and stove, all the while learning more about the customs of the area."
