"Shannon 's Pub advertises as an Irish Pub Eatery . The menu offers sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs, salads and fish chips. Shannon 's states on their website that they offer an extensive selection of spirits, liqueurs and wines, and an authentic Irish coffee . Irish coffee may be the only thing Irish on the menu. As for an extensive offering of wines, the restaurant did not have any wines listed on their beverage sheet. When asked about wines, they offered two selections for red wines a Cabernet and a Pinot Noir. We tried the fish chips which were listed as a market catch on the menu. If you like deep fried fresh fish chips as you would find at J 's Fish Chips, or the fish chips at Local Ocean, you may be very disappointed with Shannon 's fish chips. The fried mozzarella sticks were very firm and tough unlike any I 've had before. Shannon 's may be an establishment where you stop by to grab a quick bite to eat and the food is okay. The problem is that when you visit an Irish Pub you expect a bit of Irish food. If you want food that is typically found in an Irish restaurant, go to Nana 's in Newport."

"We made a reservation based on a recommendation from a friend in San Diego. Then we read very mixed reviews and considered canceling this reservation, but read a couple of recent reviews that were favorable. Our waiter was Angus, super nice, helpful. Service was a bit slow but food was excellent. From the chowder, to the beet salad, to the salmon and scallops, everything was delicious. Dessert was very good also. We definitely recommend Salishan. We ate in the sunroom. It was a very nice experience, celebrating a birthday and we were very well treated."
