"Went in a party of 6 for Sunday lunch, 4 adults 2 children. The children had the fish and chips, which were OK. However, everyone else had roast dinners and we were all very disappointed in food quality. We had heard good things about the restaurant and were looking forward to this, we won't be going back. "Great coffee, great food but what I appreciated the most was how accommodating they were to my dietary requirements. Fantastic service. My roast dinner was complete with gluten free cauliflower cheese and Yorkshire puddings. Served completely separate to avoid cross contamination."

"Pros: Beautiful garden, excellent San MiguelCons: There are three signs on the way into the garden reading, “TABLE SERVICE ONLY!”, however I had to go inside and shout for someone’s attention. After finishing my first pint I was was waving my arms for twenty minutes trying to get someone’s attention to be served again. Eventually, someone came, tapped his watch, and told us they were closing. So rude! I never treat my customers like that so don’t expect to be treated like that, especially when my wife and I were the only customers. I did get a half-hearted apology and a giggle from the manager/owner on the way out though.If you’re looking for a drink or some food in Newent, go to The George or Black Dog. You’ll get a nice, personal welcome free from pretentiousness."

"A great curry with some friends. The Sheek Kebab was frankly the nicest I've had, a generous size, beautifully seasoned and cooked. This was followed by a Begum Bahar as a main, absolutely delicious. Helpings are a generous size, you won't leave feeling you need any more. Service was attentive without being intrusive, perfect."
