"Went here with my sister who had noticed the tower from the main road and fancied giving it a try. We walked there and arrived early afternoon. Initially we thought we’d made a mistake. The place is rustic and quirky if you’re being kind and scruffy if you’re not. We were warmly welcomed and sat at a table in the sun. We chose a fish platter and sole from the extensive fish and meat menu. They brought us a nice fresh salad each to start (included at no extra charge). The main courses were a lovely surprise. Lots of really tasty food cooked beautifully. The beer was good and my wife’s G&T required an extra tonic because there was so much gin. Toilets were clean and spacious. Three meals with drinks cost us around 65 euros, so not cheap but good value for the quality of food. We would definitely go back."

"We had very much been looking forward to visiting A group of 10 of us) but unfortunately the three lasagnes that were ordered were all cold in the middle! They were reheated in the microwave I guess) and bought back out to us. The waitress didnt know whos was whos so just gave us any one each even tho we had started them! There was no apology or token offer. Having said that my husband had seafood spaghetti which was delicious."

"Ate here 3 times during course of stay in la zenia. Group of 4 adults and 2 children. Pretty much had a taste of everything off the menu. Everything tasted amazing and food presentation was top class(only sorry I didn't take a picture). Lovely house wine. Fine dining on a family budget. Staff were so pleasant and helpful. Would highly recommend this place."

"I always feel I am experiencing a “special secret“ dinner in a private location when visiting this restaurant, that I am not sure I want to “out”. We have been coming here for many years now and it is the one place that is consistently exceeding expectation in terms of food and service. The owners are extremely knowledgeable about their fresh produce and wines, plus their staff are also very attentive, you never feel like just a number or holiday maker when coming here. Upon arrival we were given a complementary appetiser of bread, aioli and olives which was a lovely touch. My husband and I shared the burrata salad, which was an enormous portion with some of the best tomatoes we have experienced, my son went for the chicken skewers that were equally delicious. We then opted for the fillet steak (perfectly cooked), coq au van (which was presented beautifully) and the chicken saffron risotto, I had been dying to try a risotto all holiday and was not disappointed at all with this, as it was very delicate and so tasty. Finished off with a lovely bottle of red (chilled to the perfect temperature). I cant wait to return and I hope the husband and wife duo continue with this excellent concept. Kid-friendliness: Park at the back for children to play in"

"Myself and my husband were in the area and had heard good things about this café so thought we would give it a go so glad we did the fish chips I had were delicious best I've had in a long long time hubby had sausage mash and he loved it. The staff were very friendly and happy in there work we really enjoyed our visit and would return. Highly recommend."
