"Zane grey had 3 vegan options; banana-blooms “Fish” and chips, butternut risotto Asian nudels. there were also ( surprisingly) chocolate slurry cakes or sorbet for the desert. what a tasty bite! great location service was really good."

"Had 2 nights eating here. First night buffet which was excellent not cheap but quality and good choice especially seafood. Tonight had fish and chips again very tasty. Staff are really friendly and helpful. What's not to like."

"You can find The Glasshouse Restaurant in the Bay of Islands, Paihia, New Zealand. It is located in the beautiful Paihia Beach Resort and Spa a short picturesque walking or driving distance from the central dining area in Paihia. We came here for dinner on a Saturday night and used out Entertainment Card valid for 1 Complimentary main dish. The food is served family style as it arrives, and is intended to be shared. We tried the Steak Tartare and Fresh Seasonal Oysters to start, they were delicious and a nice fresh way to start our meal. We particularly liked the homemade crackers as an accompaniment to the Tartare. For mains we tried the Slow Cooked Lamb and the Flank Steak – both were cooked to perfection and very good portion sizes. I am a salt and pepper fiend but I had no desire for either on this occasion. There was an excellent selection of drinks available including wines and whiskey. My husband enjoyed a Japanese whiskey suggested by our waiter that was not on the menu. This was a special treat for us and we had expected this to be quite an expensive restaurant hence using our Entertainment Book. What we found was great food, resort town comparable pricing and excellent service. We noticed many tourists walking by opting to line up and other local restaurants when we felt that this restaurant has so much to offer. Definitely worth having a look when you are in Paihia."

"Very rude manager or some senior waitress). We were welcomed by a lady on the counter and offered a table. While we almost sat there, this manager lady came and told us that she cant serve us as we dont have a booking. When we pointed her to counter lady saying we already clarified at the counter and then a free table was offered. Very rude response well she doesnt know yet and I can tell you that we will not serve you . I dont think I will ever go back to such restaurant however fancy it looks. Service: 1"

"Nice fresh fish and really nice real chips! Big portions, especially the chips! Be mindful of that. (if you haven't been in NZ for long you may not be ready for the tomato sauce instead of ketchup) They had about 3 different types of cider, in bottles. Excellent warm service and lovely food! They also had plenty of seating, both indoors and outdoors, and were quick to serve us. Thoroughly recommend!"

"Sunday roast from 3pm. Live music too. Then we shared a pizza on a different day. Both extremely good and tasty and the staff seem to be happy and enjoy being there. Makes the experience really good. All this at the end of the Paihia pier great views."
