"I had a stay of 4 nights at the hotel and in the restaurant in January and all aspects reach the highest level. Perhaps the best aspect was the warm welcome from the staff everywhere I went in the hotel. I felt like a member of the family by the end of my stay.I had 2 dinners, 2 lunches and breakfast every day and I have nothing but praise for this hotel.As others have mentioned, the hotel is somewhat remote from the village but I would not take that as a negative since they have two electric vehicles that will whisk you to the lift, the bus station and anywhere in town you want to go. They set me up with a ski pass and found the best location to rent skis only a very short walk from the lifts. In fact the ski rental station allowed you to store your boots and skis in a heated area so you could avoid the long walk through the village from many of the other hotels. The Fletschhorn took my from the front door of the hotel anywhere I asked with just a few moments notice.On arrival I was greeted warmly, shown my beautiful room and with an apero in hand I made my way to the dining room. I had a long journey so it was late but they easily adapted and made my meal a pleasure. They allowed me to order some dishes from the lunch menu and some from the dinner menu. The food is simply splendid. I tried many dishes and every one met and exceeded my expectations. What I really liked was that since I was staying on my own, the staff took the time to explain the meal in detail and I left myself in their hands to choose wines that would work. They served me by the glass and I confess I did not ask the price. Towards the end of the stay I was a bit worried given the reputation of Swiss prices, but I was pleasantly surprised. I had new taste sensations that did not break the bank. Three cheers for them serving local wines at fair prices. That has not always been my experience when ordering without asking the price in Switzerland so this was a most pleasant. The chef also came to see me at the end of the meal and spent some time answering my many questions about the preparation of the dishes.After a particularly filling dinner one evening, I wanted something simple for lunch the next day and the owner told me to just order what I wanted and they would prepare it. Later that day I found my Swiss-made watch needed a battery and again the owner happily directed me to a shop in town and then picked up the watch for me when she was in town dealing with some of her own business. Now that is what I call going the extra mile.I can only say that my experience was terrific and I can't wait to return with family to enjoy the experience of the hotel."
