"This small takeout store has recently changed the hands. the new owners are on a good thing. best chicken and chips I've had for years! the chicken was juicy and tasty, smoky roasted with Portuguese spices. the chips were golden and crispy, even after 20 minutes packed in paper. That's amazing!"

"First of all the good things. The hotel has an upmarket design and is definitely a good place to catch up with friends over a nice gin and tonic. However I ate there recently and the food was disappointing. I paid for a chicken...leg with a slight ginger flavour and a tasteless salad of mostly carrot. The ingredients were worth about The chicken was chewy and dry. I could have cooked it much better myself and I am not a particularly good cook. My husband paid for a small piece of fish no sauce discernible), about slices of potato and a crunchy carrot and celeriac salad, which was an odd mixture. Surely no qualified chef had created these uninspiring dishes? I also find the systems for ordering food and drink confusing. I couldn’t find a menu. You line up at a pizza bar where you can order other dishes as well as pizza but this isn’t clear. You also have to queue there to order a dessert but have to go to the bar to get coffee. The coffee therefore arrives before the dessert. The barmen were young men more focussed on having a laugh together than attending to customers. Altogether I think the place is overrated although the expensive formal restaurant might be worth trying. It’s less noisy in there and probably more attentive service."

"Beautiful seasonal food, super fun and personalised experience. Excellent relaxed and continual service. These guys were the most fun and skilful vino navigators I think I've experienced. They know the wine makers, the location of the vineyards, and they probably know the altitude of each bottle of wine. Tip. Tell them how much you want to eat and drink,,,, and let them order for you. There's no way I could have picked a better journey of wine from the adelaide hills. They were excellent. If you want to eat some beautiful food and be taken on a virtual wine tour of the adelaide hills... then this is you place. I eat out 3 times a week,,,,, this is the best experience...read more"

"We went to Stirling on our way to the Mt Lofty Botanic Gardens and had planned to eat at the Hotel. Unfortunately everyone got there before us and so we wandered around looking for a place to eat. A local kindly pointed us in the direction of the Konditorei. It is not large or fancy looking but it had a homely feel about it. The menu is not extensive but the food was nice and well cooked, with a home - cooked feel about it, but we did feel the prices were a little on the expensive side for what it was. The service was friendly, although we had a bit of a wait as it was quite busy. Overall we quite enjoyed our visit to this little hidden gem."
