"Was down at Bideford on holiday and went in. Place clean and staff polite but the food not great. Poppadoms seemed stale and chewy. Chicken tikka starter ok chicken biryani had no flavour and sauce very runny. Chicken pathia had no flavour and the keema naan was small. Had bitter on the drinks menu but the young girl taking drinks order didn't know what it was so settled for a cobra. Not worth the money paid Vaulted ceiling so on the chilly side"

"Best pasties in town, simple is always best and amazing value for money. We’re so lucky to have such a lovely independent bakery in our hometown, welcoming so many locals and visitors. "Just great. the chips were perfect and the scattered and crispy almost like tempoura. good location, with parking outside. highly recommended. if we only allow fish chips once on holiday in Great Britain, they must be good. mr. chips met our expectations and we will see each other again."

"Sat for a Sunday career and the nuss roast. nussbraten was probably the best nussbraten we had in a pub, as it was more like stuffing than it was a dry, superfluous 'dress and crispy, as you get most places. gravy was very tasty for vegetarian engraving. roasties and yorkshire pudding were good and all the sweet sides were amazing. pudding (we had sticky toffe brownie) were nice what we could fit at all, maybe the vanilla ice cream was a little mediocre, but noticed they farmer tom 's ice cream so will definitely ask for the next time. service was great. it will be our place for a Sunday car. many thanks to crealock"

"It has been a while unfortunately since I last visited my favourite ever pub,but at last returned on Saturday to find it exactly the same , unchanged unspoilt. A truly amazing setting, the village fete was on, the green was being used for this as well as the village hall the pub was the centre of the whole thing. Full of happiness,eating great food, enjoying pefect cask ales in a truly blissful setting. Well done The Duke of York,always worth the trip, never disappoints. I will certainly be back as my wife my dog love it there to."
