"We had a range of pastries over the course of the week. I am surprised by some comments about welcome, because the two young women at the counter could not have been more pleasant or professional, and the place had a line literally out the...door and down the street. The baba au rhum reminds me of why it was once a famous pastry: ordinary versions are simply dreadful. Here you can taste the astonishingly light cake, that simply melts in the mouth. The chocolate pastries, as one might expect of a patisserie that operates a chocolaterie across the street, are splendid. They have a small selection of pastries (and fine pain de campagne), but unmatched quality. When it comes to pastry, it doesn't get any better. The chocolaterie would be a fine place to have breakfast (they open at 8), especially if you like hot chocolate."
