"We stayed in northern Italy for one week and ate in many good restaurants around Alba and Barolo. We also attended our friends' beautiful wedding where the food was excellent. However, Il Gallo dei Don was personally my favourite food experience of the week. The setting (an agriturismo farm was relaxed and informal and the family staff were welcoming and very helpful in translating some of the menu. The menu comprised four courses with wine, water and coffee. We also had a bottle of Prosecco. We ate cured meats, risotto of saltimbocca and borage (i think? , smoked trout ravioli, pork with a light fennel gravy, hazelnut cake and semifreddo. All the dishes were full of flavour and cooked to perfection. The total cost for four adults was I think about 85 euros, which is amazing value for such lovely local home cooked food."

"Since he opened the bistro, the snack is a must from them! Very good cakes and sweets and special cappuccino. We're getting breakfast here, too. The location is central and parking right in front. Friendly staff."
