Everything is made in house , the pizza dough , the bread for his amazing sandwiches, their desserts are deadly as well . Can't go wrong with a stop here for anything they offer ."

"We were looking around for somewhere different to go for our anniversary. Didn't have to be fancy, but we hadn't had good Italian in a while, so I googled Italian restaurants in Edmonton. Tasty Tomato came up high, good reviews, and prices that were...reasonable. So we went. years in business. Neighbourhood restaurant. Run by family. What could go wrong? Well apparently NOTHING!! Service AWESOME!! Food AWESOME. Best alfredo sauce ever! and veal limone...and tiramisu...and.... So glad we stepped out of our usual' haunts for Italian. Tasty Tomato will have us back for sure!"

"I don’t know where to start, so I’ll just say the Italian Bakery saved my butt in the yummiest way.I placed a large order for custom sugar cookies a couple of weeks in advance of an event. Little did I notice, I gave the date for the day after the event. I followed up the day before to confirm details and bakery staff alerted me to my error.They did not have to do this — though I’m sure a large order is not something they’d happily let go — but Chantal not only ensured I had a way to keep in touch after hours, contacted the baker when they’d already gone home, and went above and beyond to see if it was still possible, but they also started on our order before getting confirmation the morning of just in case we didn’t want to cancel.Sure, bakeries start early, but a special kudos goes out to someone working after hours AND before to connect with me prior to 7 in the morning and see if I still wanted the cookies to happen.Upon my arrival at the bakery, the young staff member who greeted me was friendly and professional when helping me with an order that was clearly for the following day. They confirmed everything, helped me load my vehicle, and even allowed me to borrow the bakery trays to make transportation safer for the cookies and easier for me. I did not catch their name, but a shoutout here, too.This is entirely about service, which was an easy 5 stars. I wish I could speak more to the food, but I only snatched a cookie at the end of a long day on my way to return the trays. I thought it was great! But am I still kicking myself for not picking up a focaccia while I was there? You bet.I’ll definitely return, with no event deadlines in tow, to sample the beautiful product. I can tell you that if you’re looking for a visual meditation, standing in front of the display cases of yummy treats will send you into a sweet tooth dream world.From the bottom of my anxious heart, thank you, Italian Bakery!! ?"

"Vivo Italian Cuisine Nancy and I decided to venture out for a bit of “Fine Dining”, and made reservations at Vivo Ristorante in Hawkstone, just off of the Henday on Lessard Road. I previously sampled their Gnudi which was prepared by one of their chefs...a few years ago at a Home Garden Show, so was looking forward to sampling some things off of their menu at the restaurant. I was impressed with the helpful manner and professionalism of the person that answered the telephone as he provided clear guidance re the menu, etc. based on the questions that I had. On arrival, there was ample parking in the large strip-mall lot that they share with Hawkstone Physio, Co-op, and a number of other businesses. We were warmly greeted by the host and promptly seated at a nice table, Nancy having a good view of the open kitchen where the meals were being prepared. The waiter, introducing himself as Diego, was attentive, and provided us with a wedge of lemon for our water on request along with a bottle of water for the table. We perused the menu for a minute which was identical to the one on-line and ordered what we had already pre-selected, the Filetto (beef tenderloin) done medium for Nancy, and the Agnello (lamb chops), medium rare for me. I was slightly disappointed we were not offered the bread and olive oil/herb/balsamic dip that I had previously read about (admittedly in a review several years ago) as we waited for our meals. When the meals arrived, generous amounts of fresh ground pepper was provided on request which led to the only glitch of the evening. Taking a small first bite, it was immediately apparent that the lamb was over cooked, not the medium rare as ordered. Bringing this to the attention of Diego, the issue was promptly attended to and even the manager came by to apologize for the mistake. My replacement meal came promptly on a fresh plate, all well presented and looking very appetizing. Nancy reported her meal to be very good, being especially complimentary about the onion jam which was not too sweet as can be the case, and she really enjoyed the accompanying horseradish mouse as well as the 2 large pieces of prosciutto crisp. My lamb was delicious as well, perfectly cooked this time, and the Tuscan beans really complimented the tender bites of meat. The vegetables were well prepared and presented. I read a few reviews that thought the meals were severely over-priced, however I thought the value was in keeping for this type of dining experience, and definitely worth a return trip if fine dining is the goal for the evening."
