"My partner and I finished off a lovely day out by having dinner at the pub and to start with the positives: we were delighted by the ambience very cosy with the fire going and the decor was really nice too. The location is...brilliant and the autumn theming is really lovely to take in. Staff were welcoming and friendly throughout and really made an effort which is why I have been reluctant to write this review. We both had the soup to start and although the soup was nice, one very small bit of bread each is really mean… and didn’t like the fact it was focaccia which really didn’t go with the soup… HOWEVER the mains were when it really went wrong for a vegan ‘steak’ is pure cheek! And a similarly high price for vegan sausage and mash. For we were expecting something really special and were very disappointed. It tasted like something you could buy in the freezer section of a supermarket with some chips. Likewise the vegan sausages tasted store bought and the mash had far too much mustard in which was overpowering . Neither of us wanted to complain to staff because it’s not really our nature and, as before, the staff really make the place. We left without desert because really didn’t want to shell out anymore money. …. We were both very unwell the next day in the tummy department. for two people, beers, a starter and a main… I really don’t think the price of the meals reflect their quality or ingredients. Such a shame."

"The outside looks inviting and I love to see artisan bakeries having a go. Far better than a chain. I had a focaccia cheese and ham sandwich which they warmed for me to take away, and a Bath bun. Both delicious, but very expensive. Service was okay, not fantastic."
