"On a recent visit to Magog, Qc, We were wandering down Main Street as we always do checking out the boutiques and came across Gouts et Saveurs. The sandwich board outside the restaurant piqued my curiosity and we decided to take a look. We were...surprised to find a quaint and warm catering restaurant with a display of refined French food operated by a chef and his wife. We were warmly greeted and found that they had dishes to go that ranged from salmon, grilled vegetables, duck and other fine French delicacies. Since we were travelling back home we purchased some, Foie Gras, Potato soup, Clam Chowder, a slice of sausage in brioche Lyonnais, dried duck magret with herbs de Provence. and a large slice of tarte Tatin. I must say that the food was both fresh and delicious, exceptional, and well prepared. It brought back memories of a recent trip to Lyon. Chef Junet and his wife Marie-Claire treated us with the utmost respect and let us try some of their home made sausage and treats. I will be back there this fall for the fall foliage season and we do plan on dropping in again and taking back home treats and a couple of meals from this surprising little shop in Magog. Wish we had a place like this next to home."

"We`ve been on a Friday night, they had an unheard of promotion of 50% off on bottles of wines. So we went all the way for a 104$ St-Julien only to pay half of that!! I had some foie gras that was absolutely the best I had in years. Great fish and steaks too. The service was perfect also. Nice ambiance, modern, covered terrace, nice bathrooms. Give it a try, highly recommended (specially on a Friday night)."

"Our group of 4 had reserved for a Saturday evening but the place was quiet and didn’t need reservations. This small restaurant is cozy and the one person greeting and serving was quite friendly and helpful but distracted. The food was way below expectations. The...restaurant markets itself as a French restaurant but the quality is not there. They have a “table d’hôte” option including entrée, soup and main meal plus coffee or tea and the options are numerous. The chef’s suggestion was a chicken ballottine. My friend and I both ordered this dish thinking it would be fresh and high quality. We also ordered an entrée of grilled mussels with Parmesan. I mentioned intolerance to onions and garlic and asked if the chef could do the mussels with butter only and Parmesan. I was told no problem, it was all made to order and he would put butter and parmesan only. The dish came with garlic anyway and I was given a story about their garlic is non irritant because of the way it is cooked. I found this very disrespectful especially after I had been told garlic was not to be used for my plate. The main dish of chicken was prepared with chicken thighs, fatty and even a small bone included in mine. A lot of flavours but very low quality. The dishes were cold and we had to request a reheat. Pork cheeks and pork scallops ordered by the others in our group were good but also not warm enough. In conclusion, a quite disappointing dining experience and definitely not worth your money. We won’t go back."
