"Walked up to restaurant in village from canal mooring. Quite large and fairly empty but interesting room. Food good, service a little patchy but friendly. At end of meal, following a downpour, requested taxi booking whereupon kind man (owner's husband perhaps) drove up and ran us down to the towpath and didn't want any payment. Now tat is good service."
