"Das essen war gut aber die Bedienung ließ zu wünschen übrig. Deshalb nur 1 Punkt. War längere Zeit in Geroldswil tätig. Habe mich dann aber vom Restaurant abgewandt da es einen Vorfall mit dem Kellner gab. Möchte nicht mehr ins Detail gehen. Es war unter der Gürtellinie...."

"La Bastide is another of those surprising and hidden places that get known by word-to-mouth. The location doesn't help, as it's set in the middle of a mini-industrial zone, itself in an office neighbourhood, what's more quite removed from the Centre. Nevermind, La Bastide is basically a French wine & liquor place, and they have a small (but very popular) lunch counter which serves freshly-made baguette sandwiches with your choice of meat, cheese, veggies, toppings. Other snacks are available too, all at a very reasonable price. What's more, La Bastide has a small but very interesting collection of little French specialties which are near-impossible to find in Zürich, i.e., foie gras, magret de canard, special condiments (like mustard), and cheese. The selection of Calvados (bottles are available for all years since the 1930's) is spectacular. Of course these items will be slightly more expensive.There is no seating (except ad-hoc street seating in the summer months), and it's just next to a loading dock, so really a quick snack place, but infinitely superior to any kind of snack you can get anywhere for miles around. Definitely recommended, if you can find it!"

"We've had a fantastic dinner in here!!! Relaxing atmosphear, very nice staff and good quality food. Roland was really nice and friendly with us, providing good dinning suggestions. A must place to try in Zurich!!!"

"Made a huge error in making reservation. I thought I blew the dinner, but the young gentleman (floor manager? worked out setting up extra table. The kitchen and floor staffs are supposed to be out of capacity but they somehow managed to serve us without any waiting. Staffs were all cheerful and smiling even though they have a right to feel tiresome accepting added labor. I cannot appreciate them more for making our day. Aside from that, meals were all delicious and had variety in wines. The interior of the restaurant is very nice so I would recommend the restaurant to anyone for business and family event occasions. Not sure I will have a chance to visit the place again since we are from overseas, but I sure would like to experience the place with a correct reservation next time!"

"Hi there, my family was visiting me in Zurich and I reserved a table for a Friday night. The restaurant called me during the day and asked me, if I still want this table and I said yes (which was already a bit weird). The...person on the phone said that everything is alright and that we gonna see each other this night. So me and my family arrived at 8pm at the restaurant but the waiter told us there is no free table left. He told me that they made a mistake in the reservation and that they actually reserved a table the day before. However, why did they call then to make sure that I will come by on Friday??! What made it worse is that they told me to go somewhere else and they would call me in abt 45min when theres a table free. You can tell that they didn't call back. Huge disappointment, I've never experienced something like that before. Just imagine you're family is visiting and you know that its pretty difficult to get a table on a busy Friday night w/o a reservation. We finally went to Markthalle, which I can totally recommend. Nice waiters and very nice dishes!"

"Wasn't too impressed with the afternoon tea. They're not great at catering for vegetarians and vegans. Basically, whatever they brought to us was a selection of small bites no proper sandwiches or cakes, also a piece of bread with guacamole instead of scones. Perhaps meat/dairy menu is better, but if you're a vegetarian/vegan, and know how a proper English afternoon tea should look like, get yourself an (accidentally) vegan scone mix from Coop, make your own scones, and save money."

"We walked in this hotel couple of months ago with couple of friends while we were walking by the sea side in zürich. We went in, and when we said that we didn t reserved any table the manager looked at us in a very bad way, inside it looked a mess, a lot of people waiting and very low staff working. We waited a little too long because the team was in stress and really bad organised. When we reported the long wait to the chef( don't remember the name, probably serbian or russian guy) he answered with generic excuses, like sorry but they were other table waiting also. I wouldn't go again to that place. Really unfriendly . Definitely not a place to visit!!"
