"First time coming here. There is an overpowering smell of bleach as soon as you come in. The rice in the Moro de guandules was hard and grainy. The lady seemed to have an attitude for absolutely no reason. The chicken and yuca tasted good. I would come back to try other items on the menu if I'm in the area.Food: 4/5"

"The food was not good. The burger was supposed to be medium rare and it was cooked well done and did not taste good. The caprese salad did not have any basil on it, which was one of the ingredients. I will not order from this restaurant again."

"Our Sunday after church with family, wife I, eldest daughter, youngest daughter and two youngest grandkids. Visited on a recommendation from a friend and online ratings.Small but comfy, we found a table for 6 right by the window.I was surprised that a server came to wait on us. Mayte took our drink orders while we glanced at the menu. We decided on the Family Meal with Ropa Vieja and Pollo A La Plancha, with Yellow Rice and Black Beans. Grandkids also wanted Fries. We also ordered one each of Empanadas, Beef, Chicken and Spinach and an order of Mari-k-tas Plantain Chips.Shortly Mayte brought our Plantain Chips, followed by the assorted Empanadas. The Chips were great, fresh, hot and crispy. I divided the Empanadas into sections so all could try some. They were good, but not hot and had apparently been in the warmer I saw earlier. Disappointing since I was the one that really looked forward to them.Next came Cuban bread, crispy and terrific. Then our meals came. A huge bowl of yellow rice, a nice bowl of black beans, fries, and bowls of Ropa Vieja and Chicken A La Plancha. The meats were delicious, full of flavor. The rice was very good and the beans were the best I’ve ever had. And the fries were terrific, hot and crispy and super tasty. Bread was so tasty we had to order more.And of course Momma had to get desserts to share. The Rice Pudding was great, took me back to my childhood. The Flan was ok, not a big fan of Flan. Sadly they no longer have Tres Leche cake.The food was excellent and the service was great. Definitely the best Cuban food I’ve eaten in years. The only disappointment was the Empanadas. They can be pre-made and cooked fresh very quickly. But not enough to deter a 5 star rating. Another “must try” place."

"I finally decided to comment, hopefully the owner or manager reads this. My favorite things at Applebees are the soft pretzels, and the bourbon chicken and shrimp. I actually think they have decent affordable food. The staff is always nice and attentive. The only thing that makes me not want to come back is the cleanliness issue. The carpet floor is disgusting. Like nobody ever did a deep cleaning since the restaurant was open (this is in several applebees, not just the one in carrollwood). The bathroom floor is super dirty too and very sticky). I think that whoever owns this place should show some love to it. Maybe change the floor? No more carpet please it is disgusting. I believe that if they fix these cleaning issues they will attract many more customers!"

"I had stopped coming to this location for a while because the service was so bad. Today I decided to give them one last shot, I was actually pleased with how everything went I did an online order and I only waited less then 10 mins for it. Everything was fresh and my order was correct!! The customer service was great for once no one had an attitude or was rude. Hopefully they keep this up and really turn this place around as they are in a great location to really make a lot of money. I ordered the garlic parm and the lemon pepper plus fries and it was great"

"Beautiful atmosphere. comfortable sitting and friendly staff. only a register that is open with three large groups of persons who arrange or wait for orders, which was a little inconvenient. found the southwest salate abundant in size and ensures a whole meal in and from itself. the alkwear was a perfect topping. they give them big tassen water that is great. the restroom was flooded with paper cloths, which were distributed over the floor, which was degenerating. all in all this was a great experience in which I would participate again. the older amount really enjoys the salad."
