"A Tale of Two Restaurants. We went to here for a late supper Wednesday night. WEDNESDAY night, not Friday or Saturday. It was mobbed. Inside the noise level was so high you had to shout directly in the ear of the person sitting next to you if you had any hope of being heard. Crazy for the middle of the week. We chose to eat outside in the patio area instead. It was much quieter, but the patio is also the smoking section and we were unlucky enough to have a table next to Charlie Chimney and Smoky Joe. Oh, for a breeze! We were also seated right next to the Toss Across/Cornhole game which put us very close to the line of fire of flying beanbags but scary tho it was, we were never in any danger.<br/ <br/ The food rated thumbs up from all of us: Chicken Sausage gumbo, a Cuban sandwich, fish chips and the O 'Brady Burger all were cleaned up and given high marks. Very tasty fare. The 'new ' tomato and onion salad was unavailable, which disappointed me, but I made do with pub chips. We weren 't offered dessert but to be fair it was past closing time when we finished supper and I 'm sure the staff wanted to go home.<br/ <br/ Today by chance I was in the same area at lunch time and decided to check it out during daylight hours. Now I know where expression 'as different as night and day ' comes from. the patio was empty. Inside they were doing a pretty brisk business but the noise level was 1/10th of what it had been the night before. It was actually quite pleasant. They were still out of the tomato and onion salad which makes me wonder why it 's on the menu. I got the prime rib sandwich served French Dip style and swapped onion rings for the fries. The onion rings were cooked perfectly. very crisp without being burnt. The prime rib was robustly seasoned and very good, more so after dipping it in the au jus. <br/ <br/ The food is good day and night but if you 're not up to screaming to be heard go for lunch. If you like a rowdy crowd, out for a good time, for you nighttime is the right time. If you choose to go at night and sit outside where you can have a conversation, bring a battery operated fan to protect yourself from Smoky Joe."
