"Utterly delightful. An evening out with my daughter who was visiting from Colorado. From the moment we were greeted by name at the street to the nightcap in the courtyard, our experience at The Standard was exceptional. The atmosphere is one of a kind in the antebellum home which has been impeccably restored. The staff is first rate from top to bottom. The host that seated us was mindful of our attire and accommodated appropriately before bringing us to our table. Our server was knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the menu and made great recommendations. We had the Fried Green Tomatoes which were extra special with crab meat and a delicious remoulade made with grain mustard. My daughter had the Lamb which was fantastic. The peach purée expertly paired with the lamb which was perfectly cooked. I had the Standard Filet which which was tender and flavorful and cooked to order. Each course was perfectly timed for our enjoyment. The Standard really sees to the details, from the absolutely divine butter served with the bread to the Sinatra classics playing in the background, nothing was overlooked. We both remarked afterwards that it had been quite some time since a restaurant had not disappointed but The Standard definitely did not! Most enthusiastically recommended"

"A real hidden jewel. How did I not hear from this place before I went to the West End? Great cozy atmosphere in the neighborhood and we will be with staff. An exceptional wine list. Well balanced and so many of the glass choices The Meuniere broth that the shells came was incredible. More like a creamy sauce Escargot. I actually asked for a soup spoon to inflate it. Roasted Beets were served on Labne! I never imagined the combo. Works so well The duck breast was also excellent with a root hash with the perfect acid to cut through the made fat. One side of incredibly delicate and crispy truffles fries this meal. I couldn't stop eating them with the bananas. Unbelievable. Thanks for a great meal people"
