"Wonderful customer service, waitresses were lovely! Got to sit in an exclusive reserved area as a booking had just been cancelled so we were super stoked! The ambience was lovely and relatively calm also here despite they were extremely busy! Was also stoked with their cabinet, the choices looked very extensive and they had some raw pieces to choose from too!<br/ <br/ Mermaid latte-definitely something different and cute which I had to get due to the name. Super creamy which I enjoyed and quite a spicy hit, reminiscent of chai. If you’re a coffee/chai drinker, this one could be for you. 4/5<br/ Cappuccino-extremely frothy and well done! 4.5/5<br/ <br/ Starfish stack-looked beautiful, wasn’t my meal but the feedback was good!<br/ <br/ Original gangster burgers<br/ Burger buns were well done with a little crisp, the patty was soft and not tough and a decent thick patty!!! The thickest beef patty I’ve seen, definitely made from scratch and was very content with it. It was a mince patty and not steak which was different-see if that’s your thing. I liked it, but my friend (experienced with burger prefers something more juicy and not a huge fan of the mince patty. The egg was a nice addition and overall was a pleasant giant burger. 4/5<br/ <br/ Sides of fries, salmon, sausage<br/ Salmon was smoked very lightly and was tender and the sausage looked quite gourmet, was smoked to a mild flavor and had a crisp skin, tasty. Fries was a very generous portion but not crispy but still tasty. 4/5<br/ <br/ Soup of the day with ciabatta; orange carrot and tumeric<br/ Soup was really tasty! A very lovely balanced creamy blend and all the elements really worked the bread was also super fresh! 4/5<br/ <br/ Seafood chowder with grain bread (able to switch out ciabatta <br/ Really tasty chowder wow! Creamy with the right amount of savory-ness yum! The seafood flavor was fresh and not pungent, and the mussels chewy and tender. 4.5/5<br/ <br/ From their cabinet I thought I’d splurge and chose the ginger crunch and raw pineapple mint slice! -to be updated! <br/ Super happy with the ginger crunch-the part bade was delicious in texture and gritty whilst very well proportionally matches with a sweet but not sickly ginger icing. Yuuuuum 4/5<br/ The pineapple slice was definitely different. I liked the element of piebeapple and enjoyed the slightly (apricot-y? base but wasn’t a huge fan of the coconut cream which overpowered the tropical direction I thought this was heading for. 3/5<br/ <br/ Portion sizes were very generous and we had a lovely hearty brunch. Would recommend!"

"Note: menu on zomato is outdated, check their website <br/ <br/ Just had lunch here today. We ordered the pan fried halloumi, lamb fettuccine and the market fish with chorizo and olives. <br/ <br/ The market fish was monkfish and it was cooked perfectly! The chorizo and tomato was a good match with it. The fried halloumi salad was also very good and came with kumara pumpkin potato and spinach. I feel the lamb fettuccine was quite bland but the amount of lamb given was very good for the price. <br/ <br/ The service was super friendly and wasn't a long wait time :"

"Had a quickish stop here before a conference lecture for breakfast. They have quite a few items in the cabinet but the cinnamon roll wasn't there. Had to ask for it at the counter. Grabbed a cinnamon roll and hot chocolate. The cinnamon rolls were hot from the oven and served with butter. Easily inhaled it and had the hot chocolate on the go. Really delicious and a great start to the day. The hot chocolate was nice but the white hot chocolate was better."

"Came to marbecks today for lunch. What an amazing array of deli items, condiments and international fare. We ordered a quiche from the cabinet and the kumera fries. I enquired about any sugar free options for sodas however they did not have any however the girl behind the counter did offer a smoothie alternative. We were served quickly and the fries and aoli were beautiful cooked perfectly however the quiche was lacking a lot of flavour it would of been nice for it to be served with a relish and also maybe one of the beautiful cheeses they sell cod of been put in the quiche to add more flavour. <br/>Over all though a good experience."

"A cute little cafe for breakfast, brunch or lunch. I love the design of the menu and the cosy but contemporary interior. <br/>I loved the selection of Best Ugly Bagels on offer and I ordered the bagel of the week which was with avocado, mushroom and halloumi and I got this on a gluten free bagel. The avocado was a generous serving and the flavours balanced wonderfully together. My only criticism would be that the plate was too small to try and cut the bagel up a bit to make it easier to eat. <br/>My friend had one of the breakfast stacks and enjoyed it too. <br/>There was a slight mix up and I ended up getting my coffee in a takeaway cup but the coffee was good and I loved that almond milk was available. <br/>The selection of counter sweet treats looked delicious too. <br/>I would definitely recommend The Perc Cafe for the bagel menu alone!"

"The Dog With Two Tails is a secret that was. People go to enjoy its eclectic atmosphere, I will often hear a band play in the evening. It has a social element a lot of inner city cafes don't. That being said, I would not particularly rave about the food there. However I get the impression the staff are making an effort to improve in this area so I am inclined to be generous. Like a lot of places in the central city, you just need to be aware of the noise factor at peak times."

"Staff are extremely friendly. The best coffee and food hands down in Dunedin. The staff put a lot of pride into their service and menu ,and it truely shows. Vegetarian and vegan options are available. The vegan cake is the best I have ever tasted. Amazing."
