"A small place as described by previous reviewers, we also found it during the Thursday night art walk. The service is friendly, the location is tranquil and the pizzas from the outdoor wood-fired oven were only surpassed by the flan which was also prepared in the wood-fired oven. Also one of the better salads we have had in SJdC. Wine selection, while limited, was good and reasonable."

"This is a tasting menu without the menu. The chef selects the dishes to be served for a three or five course tasting extravaganza. You just sit back and enjoy. The first course was a Seafood & Fruit salad, consisting of smoked Sea Bass, Octopus, pear cubes, mango cubes, and Black Olive slices served over an avocado and cilantro base. This was followed by seared scallops, baby chicken, sea bass and New York strip steak. Each was cooked perfectly with the appropriate garnishments. And then came dessert. A chocolate souflee baked in a tamale husk, served with banana ice cream and flavored dipping sauces. A true slice of heaven. This restaurant is a block off the main drag but worth getting lost to find it."

"Located next door to the Hyatt Place, it was first recommended to us by the hotel and we were so impressed we returned for our last night's special meal in San Jose. it is a family restaurant and a beautiful mix of courtyard dining and art gallery with superb tapas choices. The staff, including Alex, are wonderfully attentive and friendly and the chef very talented with creating fresh food choices. We especially enjoyed the slow cooked lamb tacos, the octopus and organic baby vegetables. The green salad with goat cheese was delicious but the portion was huge and we felt better suited to four people rather than us two. Three choices of tapas is an ample dinner for two. Our cocktail of choice was the Marguerites and we very much enjoyed our red wine selection. The simple pottery plates and dishes, made specifically for the restaurant, were practical and elegant. There is so much "touristy" in San Jose that this peaceful retreat was very welcome."

"We were lured in on the Art Walk night! Lots of people around so all the restaurants looking for patrons. We were pleasantly surprised at everything we had. The Sangria was amazing, food very tasty and plentiful, and the service spot on. They had a live band playing that were also enjoyable!"
