"I saw the lunch here, as I wrote. great small place to lunch. the lady, who served, did not speak much English, but went away and practiced a phrase so that she could tell us to enjoy the food. she's beautiful. eating is quite expensive and... really delicious. 6 connections to madeira and our first time in santa cruz. we'll be back."

"Superb food! The most flavourful stew you can enjoy during your stay at Madeira. We stopped for an appetiser few times and got to taste the house specialty goat stew as a snack. Returned the other day to try the full dish, simply out of this world! Would never have considered the dish, but this is by far the best stew I ever got to taste. The flavour, the tenderness, the mouthfeel, easily 5+ stars The owner/cook told in a passionate way the entire story behind the dish, how he got to know the recipe and mastered it in a Londen restaurant. The hospitality of the owners is superb as well, they take their time explaining products and dishes. Very pleased with the wine assortment they offer, lovely stuff and great price/quality. Discovered a vino verde for the first time, I highly recommend if you are into young fruity wines and enjoy some mineral tasting notes. Don’t let the Portuguese menu (use google translate camera ; and local focus of the restaurant bring any doubt, this restaurant is a must visit as a culinary enthousiast. Will definitely return here on my next visit to Madeira!"

"We were three family groups (3 seniors, 6 adults, 2 adolescents, 8 kids . Main dishes are fish based. Not every ingredient is fresh (but the owner admit it without reserve , especially the seafood. However, the recipes are very tasty so that you can eat dishes with the right compromise between price/quality/flavour. We eaten squid and shrimp; especially the squid (the recipe is called Lulas a Diabo are very tasty although, for someone (not me too spicy. If you go there, it could be good to dine in this restaurant, enjoying also of an amazing view on the Ocean!"

"We always visit twice during our annual visit to madeira, and this time it was not disappointment. as delicious as ever and a friendly singing waiter. the steak on a stone was delicious, like the homemade chips. my naughty daughter was fed by the spaghetti blognase. wonderful!"
