"Part of a group of 8, which can be an issue if you don't book in advance, but it wasn't here. The food was excellent, with a superb buffet salad bar for starters. A variety of mains, but the majority were steak as it is a grill.They even managed to sort out the bill on an individual basis, despite our broken French."

"Maison Francis Miot has a very limited lunch menu, just a few salads and a few tartines, but everything is excellent, inexpensive, and ample. The salad Bearnaise, which I've had a couple of times now is amazing, with a huge serving of fois gras, magret...fume, wonderful greens and very nice sweetish salad dressing. The entrees are always small but very inexpensive, and very tasty. Then there's the dessert! This place has it all where that's concerned. It may confuse you from the street, as the dining area is in the back of the shop, so it is a bit inconspicuous. But the actual dining room is very charming and warm, with a nice view of Pau. One of my favorite lunch spots in the city."

"Whilst visiting Pau for the Historic GP race we dined here on the Saturday evening, very busy and lucky to have got a table. Friendly staff and owner, good food and drink with excellent service. This is only a small restaurant but sits right next...to the wall around the chateau so good views whilst you dine. We enjoyed ourselves here and would visit again if in Pau. It was a great pity that it was closed on the Sunday evening and would have saved us a horrible time at the restaurant around the corner. Loved it here and my wife enjoyed the food and she is one fussy food critic! Thanks to all of the staff."
