"My friends and I were there Monday night sat down service was not great went to order our food my friend ordered the banquet for $89 dollars which was fine the waitress looked dumb foundered I then ordered the same made it quite clear 2...of them and other food and drinks said again 2 banquets yes I understand she said first part comes out only two off beef chicken fish scewers I ask is this right and with attitude yes that is right the big platter came out only one I ask again fell on deaf ears she couldn’t care less walked of and bang it sunk in came back and said no only one was ordered I said that not right she walked off 5 people $530 for dinner still can’t order and get what you want and with attitude. Thanks very much for the experience bay leaf"

"Sirocco is one street back and a block away from the esplanade where the majority of restaurants are. It is also located inside the Holiday inn Hotel, which from the outside, doesn't look much - but from the inside is fantastic! We usually try a Cairns restaurant once a week/fortnight, but lately we've been hard pressed to find a good meal or restaurant we have enjoyed immensely. That was until we went to Sirocco. They were unusually very busy for a Thursday night - but the service was still great! Extremely friendly staff (unseen since the 90's) that were extremely attentive and apologetic (where there was no need as we arrived at 7pm - had entree, main & dessert etc and were done by 8.30!)My husband surprisingly ordered eggplant fritters for entree (and he is a steak and veg man) and they were delicious. Barramundi and lamb & cous cous for dinner and both meals were substantial and divine. For dessert we had the espresso chocolate fondant and I love my dessert not to mention chocolate dessert - yet this was the least favorite of my meals - but still tasty!!I can highly recommend this restaurant and don't be put off by its location or look from the outside. Don't bother with the extremely overpriced restaurants on the esplanade :)"

"Food was beyond terrible. The fish taco was just breaded something no fish. The shredded beef quesadilla was bbq rib beef in a small flour tortilla (there were three of them) with a bit of cheese and were disgusting. Everything had to be pre maid...and sitting there as the food came out in way to quick a time. The drinks however which were from a machine took much longer. All I can say is this place is in business because 20 year olds are there to drink and not eat."

"I read all the reviews before dining here this evening and the past reviews were quite scathing however more recent reviews were more on point. The hotel and facilities are very typically Chinese and in saying so I was pleasantly surprised. For the price paid at an all you can eat buffet the food was above average and there was quite a good selection. The staff were extremely polite and extremely efficient. The restaurant was extremely clean and tidy and everyone was so promptly and diligently. It is just a good affordable meal out with room for promise. The manager used to own the China tea house across the road from Woolworths for 15 years and she is very proud and extremely good at her job. I would recommend this for a family friendly affordable mail out"
