"I'm lucky to live in very close proximity to this inviting Japanese/Taiwanese restaurant! We booked a table for four of us to try this local restaurant on a Saturday night. When we got there at 7pm it already looked quite busy so I would recommend making a booking as there's not a huge amount of seating. The cosy dining area gives it an intimate feel. The staff are very quick to give you their attention and start ordering drinks/starters. We started ordering some 'small' and 'medium' dishes and ended up going back to order more cos they were so good, before trying one 'large' dish to share amongst us. We tried every single type of gyoza on the menu: chicken, sweet potato and vegetable. They were all delightful, my favourite being the chicken. The coriander gave it a really nice touch and I couldn't get enough! We also tried the Kara age, a deep fried marinated chicken with Japanese mayonnaise. So tender and yum, without being oily at all. We also had an eggplant dish which was just a little too oily for my liking. Then we tried the deep fried calamari which was pretty good also. We tried the chicken curry with rice, which was really yum but I found a bit hard to share amongst us and also eat with chopsticks. We were also tempted to try dessert. We had a nutella gyoza each, which was so yum! It wasn't too rich, and was just a nice sweet ending to an amazing meal. The deep fried banana was also interesting! So even though we had quite a bit of tempura and batter, it was all delicious and we felt that we deserved to enjoy such a delightful meal. We'll definitely be returning as I want to try the Yakitori lemongrass chicken, or the udon noodle vegetable soup with dumplings. YUM! Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. Book ahead!"

"First visit very impressed. First visit on recommendation and only takeaway, but we were very happy with quality freshness and value. Tried Udon chicken, teriyaki chicken and prawn tempura don; all delicious. Will definitely return for a dine in experience."

"Indeed they don’t have the best customer service, but the waitresses waiters are nice individuals. They’re happy to go through the menu with the customers if you’re unclear with Malaysian cuisine. Love their wat tan ho, kueh tiaw, prawn noodle soup, salted fish fried rice, the rotis, and the vege bee hun."

"Thonglor Thai is really a hidden Thai delight, an oasis in a set of shops off Gordon street Maribyrnong. I’ve been coming for years as no other Thai restaurant is as authentic as here. I’m a Penang curry lover and with coconut rice it’s delicious....Every time we say we will have something different but always go back to our favourites We love the noodles, they fry full sized fish to perfection and my go to entrees are spring rolls and the prawn fritters. They do a desert of fried banana fritters we shared with home made coconut ice cream It’s Devine but filling. Generous serves made with quality fresh ingredients. I’ve never had to send anything back. The premises are fitted out to Thai design and the staff really friendly Highly recommend and will eat here again and again"
