The only enjoyable part of the evening was the waiter who tried very hard to please. We even thought he had a good sense of humour but later realised it was actually because he misunderstood us. The main issue was over corkage. I was dining with my 2 children and we had decided to go to a different restaurant which charges $2 per person corkage and I know their wine list is limited so was happy to pay the corkage. It turned out the restaurant was closed despite their website saying otherwise so we chose The Joy Kitchen instead. I left my pre purchased wine in the car knowing they were licensed. Upon discovering there is only one SSB and one Chardonnay on the menu I asked if I could bring in my own wine to which the response was "yes, but that will be $8 corkage" for one person drinking. When I objected that if they want to charge that amount for corkage they need to offer a better per glass selection the waiter said...

"Absolutely heinous<br>
Ordered a "Maw Maw Meatball Po-Boy" after waiting 25 mins my sandwhich arrived, and i couldnt have been more disappointed. Bland watery meatballs drenched in a horrible homebrand tomato paste, closed in stale bun, topped with ridiculous amount of lettuce and kraft mayonaise. <br>
Could have gone to subway for a much better deal<br>
save yourself the time and stay away from this place."

We had the eggs Benedict which was delicious and perfectly cooked and also the shakshouka with the slow cooked sauce... amazing!!"

"Not as good as the other branch in Northbridge. I was just so disappointed that the sauce (dak gan jeong) is very watery. This just ruins the dish for me even though the fried chicken itself is still great. Maybe it's an off day for them."

"I like something different and that's what this venue is great menu of drinks, haven't eaten there yet but the menu seems diverse and popular from what I've seen. I highly recommend Holy Smokes to conniseurs of alcohol."
