"As first time visitors on the occasion of my wife's birthday we didn't know what to expect at the Lotus Lounge. We didn't realise that on Fridays and Saturdays they have an all you can eat menu and to make things easy that is what we went for. The bottle of Chilean Sauvignon Blanc was quite passable and went nicely with the food. The menu says that for a table of two to choose 3 starters. The waitress urged us to choose a 4th which we did. The chicken and sweetcorn soup was delicious, the prawn toast the best that I have had in England, the ribs were also very good. Unfortunately by the time that we got around to the crispy duck it was a little cool but still nice. I don't know how some of the customers can manage to go through the starters two or three times but they do. The service was attentive without being in your face and when the main courses came along they were also of good quality and taste. Pity that they were out of Lychees though as they are one of my favourites with ice cream. A very nice meal all around. My wife did say that it wasn't as posh as she'd expected? but she was well satisfied with the food and service."

"This place used to be great but not anymore! My partner and I had food from here Friday evening and it was pure rubbish. The beef in black bean sauce was mostly green pepper and onion, hardly any meat, and what meat there was was tasteless. The black bean sauce was tasteless water. The omelette was atrocious and the chips were well over cooked. All this and the prices have shot up! No way will I ever return."
