"Love the food trolleys that the waitresses bring around. We can look at each item and choose immediately. Always fresh, always good. Only draw back is that many of the staff do not speak English."

"We made reservations after the opening hours, so it wasn't too busy when we were there. the place was quickly filled up and I could soon find out why. after ordering various dishes the tee arrived and then within minutes were the first. our dishes available. within a few minutes after that, all our dishes we had ordered were ready and waiting for us for the table. the service was fast and the waiter who served us was friendly enough. the bus boys were also fast to remove all the plates that were emptied as we made our way through the dishes. my friend has made the order, since I never know the names of what I eat, except through. since most customers appeared as Asian, it did not surprise me that our waiter needed another person who spoke better English to process our payment at the end of the meal (we tried to tell them that they share the bill, but finally gave up explaining and putting everything on a credit card). a wonderful meal that I will definitely return for."

"We recently moved to the area from NYC, so our standards for authentic Canto dim sum are high. Food is good quality! The environs are clean and classy. We got a reservation for 10am (opening hour) a day ahead of time, and the place was already packed when we arrived. The cons: the menu is a bit smaller than usual, and prices are understandably higher than usual."

"Below standard - the steamed fish was half-raw - and had to be treated with boiling oil - after which - the meat of the fish became "tough". It was not cheap. The chicken was not well cooked either. Overall, the meal we had was totally disappointed - and the price we paid for such poor standard of food and service was not worth the value at all. Never go back again."

"This was the second time I’ve been at this restaurant for dim sum in the past 18 months. We arrived around 12:30 and the 4 of us had about a 15 minute wait before we were seated at our own table. We could have gotten in sooner if we shared a table with other customers.Like most restaurants these days, there are no dim sum carts. You are given a dim sum checklist and then you mark off what you want and give the list to the server. Most of the standard dishes are $2.98.We ordered the following dishes:• Pork dumplings - $2.98 (siu mai): no roe topping, taste-wise okay• Shrimp with pea tips dumplings - $2.98: different and taste-wise okay• Deep fried spicy calamari - $6.98: body only; juicy, tender and tasted good. I prefer the body. If I’m not mistaken, the tentacles are probably cheaper than the body.• Vegetables (pea tips) in Supreme soup - $6.95: okay• Pan fried eggplant stuffed with shrimp meat - $2.98: barely okay• Chicken and salted fish fried rice - $7.80: yummy! The service was okay nothing to complain about. Dishes came in timely manner. My only complaint would be the lack of free on-site parking if the restaurant complex lot is full. Most of the dishes were above average in taste except I didn’t really care for the shrimp stuffed eggplant. I would rate the overall food experience at 3.25+ out of 5.Notes & Tips:• Cash only• There are limited parking spaces on the restaurant’s grounds; maybe 8-10 spots in the front. You are allowed to double-park your car end to end and if the car you have hemmed in has to leave the restaurant before you do, the restaurant will announce your licence plate over the PA system. There is metered street parking on Leslie Road. I’m not sure but there may also be parking at the rear of the restaurant.• There is a small private room that holds a banquet table.• There are also menu items on the wall. Unfortunately, it’s all in Chinese."

"Better than a lot of other Chinese restaurants. I often go to this place for dim sum whenever I go to Richmond. Both food and service are great and even better than most of other restaurants. It has never disappointed me so far."

"It was my father who first talked us into giving this restaurant a try as he was impressed with their food and service. We went on a weekday as we knew that parking on the streets would be a problem on the weekends as that area is usually jam packed with cars. Off the topic, if you are into watching a parade of exotic race cars driven by folks who have just attained the legal age to drink, that is where you should hang out on a Saturday night. There is parking at the back of the restaurant but you may end up with some free gifts, a dent on your car door and seagull deposit on your windshield .We ordered the Pork Liver Soup with Mustard Greens, Steamed Flounder on Lotus Leaf, Sweet and Sour Pork, Deep Fried Oysters and Noodles with Shrimp Roes. The soup was highly recommended by our affable waitress although it may not be everyone's cup of tea. Anyway, it was delicious and the livers were full of flavor and not overcooked. The flounder was steamed the traditional way with slivers of pork and mushrooms on top. It was fresh, delectable and masterfully steamed. The oysters tasted fresh although they came from a container and they were beautifully deep fried, kudo to the chef for double deep frying the oysters to achieve crispness without greasiness. The sweet and sour was a disappointment as the sauce was as blend as tap water. Finally, the noodles, despite the small portion, was al dente and chewy, sprinkled with a generous amount of shrimp roes.Unfortunately, we have gone back on three occasions and while we ordered similar dishes, they had dropped from stellar to mediocre. On our last visit, the noodles with wontons that we ordered was hilarious. The wontons were the size of golf balls and the shrimps inside were disproportionately large. In this case, bigger is not better as everything must compliment each other.Being a consumer these days is no easy task. We get frustrated with restaurants that do not meet our standard and even more so when they become inconsistent. In the meantime, I am looking for a reason to go back one more time."
