"Got the 11 course seafood combo for only $240. Came here with 8 people for Valentine's Day. Food was excellent, fresh and tasty except a few dishes were warm/chill. Service was good too. Great price compared to the 9 course meal at Kum Koon for $315."

"Food was not great but at the same time wasn't bad. The biggest complaint was that it wasn't hot. The best dish we had was a vegetable in black bean garlic sauce. The worst was a chow mien noodle dish which was tasteless. A big short coming is that those coming in to pick up take-out have to stand around the guest's tables because the restaurant is so small with no waiting area."

"We have eaten both lunch and dinner at the Huang Pu River and both times found the food to be rather unremarkable. The portions are very generous, the menu huge and the prices very reasonable. The food just didn't have much flavour going for it. It was quite bland. When we went for dinner, the restaurant was quite chaotic and loud even though there were many empty seats. We wouldn't expect our four or five dishes to be served at exactly the same time, but several of our selections came fifteen minutes apart. The waitress, although I believe unintentional, delivered our dishes as though she was really ticked off. We'll give it another try with different dishes and hopefully have a better experience."

"The Xian style noodles here are the best in Manitoba, also provide delicious other Chinese dishes. I have been here for few times and they even have vegetarian dishes. I specifically tried sour and spicy flavour dishes. Definitely recommend if you like Asian cuisines and looking to try things in Winnipeg."

"We have been ordering from this restaurant for over 2 decades.We have eaten in a few times but we have done mostly take out.As my title states....the food is consistent.We have had it numerous times with friends and they have always enjoyed it.We kinda have a number of go to dishes but have wandered off that list a couple of times and mostly enjoyed the new dishes we have tried.The staff has always been friendly.We recommend this restaurant for the consistency of their food....the ambience in the dining room itself is nothing special but as stated we use it for mostly take out."

"Food is greasy, Chicken is loaded with gristle, and the good tastes like it was boiled. Lemon Chicken had No flavour ( but loads of gristle ) and Noodles were just greasy and had no taste. Sweet & Sour Chicken tasted great but you still had to spit out the gristle if you actually intended to swallow it.Ended up tossing it in the garbage and taking a lesson with me: Don't trust websites since most use their own writers and fill the pages with lies."

"Good Eats. We have been going to dalat for about 15 years...since they were on Ellice. The food is still great after all these years. We normally get the hot honey lemon chicken, the dry breaded veal, dry beef chop suey, and/or veg. chow mein. All are great but the veal can be superb! I would recommend if looking for a great all around Chinese food place. The interior of the Taylor location is pretty high end for a Wpg Chinese/Vietnamese restaurant."
