"A very busy sunday lunch at this restaurant. Came with the wife and kids, took a number and stood out the front with the rest of the crowd. Took about 10 mins for a table to become available. Dumplings here were very good, also enjoyed the salt and pepper calamari and the crispy skin chicken. service was very quick."

"Kreta Ayer Chatswood is one to avoid at all costs. We went there after seeing how busy it was. However, this was a mistake. We had the worst crab here. It was the most overcooked crab I have ever had. There was no juice left in the crab and the sauce was overly salty. The food was bad but the service was worse. After waiting for an hour, we were finally given a table but was told the cashier was now closing so we were asked to pay straight away. This was well before closing time and before the kitchen had closed. They then mistakenly gave us another table's dish and we were given someone else's dish. 2 separate incidents. They also forgot to make one of our dishes and refused to cook it because the kitchen had closed. They insisted we should just take our money back for the dish. Only after complaining, did they cook it. It was a rushed job too so it wasn't done properly. By this time, all the staff were wanting to go home. They had their jackets on!! We were asked many times if we were finished. We hadn't been there that long before they started doing this. Don't risk it folks, There are many great restaurants in Chatswood. Going here will ruin your night. Eat elsewhere."

"Dinner on a Monday night. The whole district area was pretty quiet. Chose Petaling mainly because it was the first place when you walk in. I had the claypot short rice noodle. It came with mince pork. Doesn't look pretty but I enjoyed it. Nice soy flavour. A little on oily side. Would have liked some greens through it. Decent amount for $12.90. My friend had noodles with chicken. She was not impressed with her meal. She didn't elaborate much on that."

"Great place if you like Sichuan! Worth trying. Varying degrees of spiciness on dishes. Dishes are big so can order but more and take away for later too. Some of the dishes are great for a group of friends to just sit, nibble on and drink beer. Good place to spend a lazy weekend afternoon sitting at a table near the window and chatting."

"Decent service, good Chinese style food (not western chinese . A bit more expensive than your local noodle house but the experience is nicer also. We had dumplings, cumin lamb, chilli oil beef, garlic fried bok choy, and xinjiang panckages. All tasty. The chilli oil beef maybe had a bit too much meat softener, but the base was tasty. The garlic veg were I think they best I've ever had (not sure what they did to it!"
