"Our marching (OK, stumblinbg and sliding on account if the icy paths) band arrived at this haven after a long-ish walk. We were quickly seated, speedily fed and well-watered in no time. The lady of the house manages to be efficient and welcoming at the...same time. No complaints, happy wanderers wandered on."

"Best chicken shop ever. I literally keep my family together. I love it so much. I'm going now and then if I want a little boom shakalaka in my life. my favorite are the two stripburgers and chips. it's a 10/10 to say the least. now trust me, the bbq chicken wings are finger licking worthy. they are coated in sauce and odour away from a mile, very sensational and stunning in its magnificent shape. the personal is so friendly and nice. my son goes here sometimes after school. time management in this business is perfect. they know how to treat their customers and how many too many times. they are ready for any situation possible. Promise that this load is mouthwater. Do not forget to go here before they die. the greatest chickening in life. will be here for a late evening."

"Booked a table for 8 for a family birthday celebration. Chose The Cock as we wanted a walk in Trent Park before lunch. Was a little concerned because of some of the negative reviews and wanted to make sure my mum enjoyed herself, but our service was good and the food was certainly plentiful. Had ordered the Duo of Beef the week before at The Arkley and I have to say the portion size at the Cock was MUCH bigger. The pub doesn’t feel as sophisticated as The Arkley, is a bit more lively, and the furniture is a little tired, but we all enjoyed our meals Seabass, Roast Pork, Roast Chicken, Tagliatelle and Beef. Just beware, the mini puds are either mini or huge depending on what you order the pavlova is huge, the mousse is mini. In summary, an enjoyable occasion with nice food and no complaints at all about the friendly service we received."

"Today we had a very nice Sunday meal with the family at Spaniern. when we arrived, we sat up and the only reason I booked is because of the beautiful cameine that turned out were down. I think they must make a special question for this, so have definitiw learned this section for the future. I also booked more than a month in advance. when we arrived, there were no other guests and there was no heating. when we asked the waiter, his attitude was a little rude and was hesitant to turn the heating on which was very inhospitable. the service was too slow, as they were completely booked. but eating was nice and we had a great time. great aromen and large portions. there was a great family situation and there are parking spaces on the ground that was great. to this season I would recommend some Christmas music to experience a bigger atmosphere. we had many different dishes as family- see pictures. we loved the charm of the building. we will definitely be back!"
