"Le Petit Marais is sandwiched between other restaurants on a cobbled road that leads from the High Street on to a canal walk and cycle route. It has outside seating next to the front door of the restaurant and a wooden area next to the canal. There is of course also indoor seating. Staff are friendly and efficient and sat next to the canal is very sedate and peaceful. There are set menus which are good value for money and the salads are plentiful. The chef forgot to put the tuna on my wifes tuna salad and he attended the table very apologetic with oodles of tuna to correct his mistake! Lovely relaxing atmosphere perfect while eating a tasty meal."

"Le Bilig is situated close to the main High Street next to a hotel that can only be described as the equivalent to Hotel California! Anyway the Bilig is a busy little restaurant that inside is like a Tardis! Inside dining has two floors the ground floor being around the bar and the first floor being comfortable and spacious. However the outside eating is lovely next to the canal with many people walking up and down the cobbled road for those people watchers and the canal with lots of electric boats plodding up and down. The road although busy is not a distraction as it moves slowly through the town and is far enough away not to be noisy. The staff are all very friendly and all seem to be tatooed! They are efficient talk english well and are attentive to your needs. Carrafes of wine are very reasonable and included in some of the set price menu meals. The canal view is lovely looking up the road you have the bridge over the canal where boats go each side of the partition. Food is good too we are very fond of Muscles and chips (moules/ frites) which are reasonable and we invite the three children for desert afterwards which the staff have no problem with. Efficient friendly staff who supply good food in a lovely location."
