"We first went to Pirates on a Friday night, four of us had the set menu and 2 off the A la Carte menu, we all thoroughly enjoyed our food, the service was good, and the staff were able to explain what each dish was.We sat outside on a lovely evening and the breeze was welcoming after the heat of the day. We then decided to return the following week, the restaurant was busier than the week before and the poor waitress was rushed off her feet, We ordered again off the A la Carte and set menu, the starters arrived and were delicious, then there was a wait of nearly and hour and 45 mins before the mains came and then only 5 of them (there was 6 ordered). so another wait. We also had children with us. there was another wait for the desserts, we were about to leave when they arrived. They were advertising for staff and the waitress did work so very hard. Saying that the food was good but the service did let it down. We would go again but please be aware that the service is extremely slow, we were there nearly 4 hours!"

"Very welcoming and nice staff. very well eaten, very very hearty bruschetta with fries. He's an adviser. Too bad that the odd to get there is so steep and long, especially when you are by bike!!!"
