"Visited Botavora tonight with our daughter and son in law. Botavora has to be one of the best restaurants we have ever had the pleasure of dining at. Views were amazing overlooking the port and fantastic time to see the sun setting over the mountains; we had booked a table for 9pm. Thoroughly recommend the Iberian ribs and sirloin steak, both cooked to perfection. Desserts were beautiful and homemade, along with the coffee and liqueurs was a perfect way to end our meal. Our waiter Flarim was a gem, attentive, experienced and very knowledgable and helped recommend choices throughout our meal. Would highly recommend if you’re staying in San Jose this is a must see ! Enjoy !"

"We tried to go to this restaurant once, but it was fully booked so we reserved a table for another day. We do not speak a good Spanish, but when we asked a table outside on the veranda, they replied that it would have been...windy that day so they asked if we were sure, and we said yes. This means that they perfectly understood our request. When we arrived at the restaurant, however, they said that outside was fully booked and there was only a table inside. We complained, but nothing, so we sat inside. My impression, also this time only an impression, is that they let sat a couple that arrived immediately before us and that apparently they knew them, so they prefer to accommodate “friends” than tourist that regularly booked. The food was good, but service a little bit hasty."
