"Went here for the first time over the weekend. The owner and his staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and packed some awesome flavours. I tried the lobster, shrimp and mahi mahi tacos. Mahi mahi was my favourite, hands down! While the fries are a side dish, they were also delicious! The place had a relaxed vibe with decent tunes playing. I will definitely be back to try their other tacos!"

"Fish and Chips are AWESOME. Went to see what all the hype was about when it came to fish and chips at La Pointe and wow was not disappointed. Very friendly super cute waitress named Jackie with a beautiful smile served me and my co-worker. Fish batter was nice and crisp and french fries were freshly cut and crispy and coleslaw was equally delicious. I will for sure be going back for the fish and chips and to see Jackie’s beautiful smile ;"

"Food was pretty good, though a bit basic for the price. My main complaint is the service. It took the server a long time to come take our order, and after the food arrived the server was nowhere to be found. A full 20 minutes after we finished eating the server still didn't show up to give us the bill."

"Zia and his staff does an amazing job keeping their guests satisfied. They know almost everyone's names and greets you right when you enter the cafe. The food is a blend of Western, Mediterranean, German, and many other dishes. Zia loves to experiment with cooking so he always has different things on the menu. he also insists if you want anything extra on your meal onions, more spice, etc) that you ask for it, and he will be glad to make it to your liking. The fries are amazing!! Sadly, it's only available on Tuesdays and Thursdays, so I have to seek it somewhere else when I get salty snacks cravings. Kris, the phenomenal and sweet barista, makes my coffee so perfect, that I only order it whenever she's around. Here are some of the daily specials they've had: The price is around $10-$12 and comes with Daily soup or salad if there's no fries. Chicken Biryani Saffron Rice Chicken Butter Chicken Curry Chicken Schnitzel and Mashed Potatoes Poutine Special Mediterranean Chicken Wrap Mexican Wrap Housemade Lasagna Steakhouse BBQ Burger with Fries Mushroom Burger with Fries One of the cons would be at times the menu items are a tad expensive. Like the poutine is $7 tax! Although it's a large size, you're better off ordering the burger and fries for $10 tax only if it's on special that day) A slice of Banana bread is $3 tax per piece X_X."

"Quick stop tonight. Ordered 4 piece fried chicken and 2 chicken tacos. We're talking fresh chicken that's breaded and fried. It is greasy on the outside but the chicken itself was quality meat. I guess I had the regular breading (there were options on the menu) which was quite good. The meat was cooked just right. Came with great gravy, fries, and one of the best coleslaws I've had from a fast food type establishment. The fries were okay gravy redeemed them. Overall the best tasting fried chicken I had in Ottawa. By far. Chicken tacos we're good according to my wife, but she loved the chicken more. The location is a food court inside a small mall. It wasn't busy on a Thursday evening. Customers came by to pick up orders. The sole employee was genuinely friendly, polite, and useful. Right away he mentioned the chicken took 20 minutes to cook. He deserves more than the min wage he's likely getting. Overall great experience. It's a food court hole in the wall. Chicken is yum. Prices are fair."

"Wednesday for Lunch I met up with a friend who talk about how each of our new businesses was going. My friend suggested we visit this quaint little cafe with good food at affordable prices in downtown Ottawa. With this, we headed to Cafe Deluxe 77 Metcalfe Street, Ottawa . We arrived to a small cafe style restaurant. The only thing, where exactly do you order? Good thing my friend had been there multiple times and was welcomed by more than one of the staff. As we were the only two customers ordering at that time, it worked well. But where's the menu? When facing the counter and the staff preparing your orders, the customer needs to turn around to see the menu. Yes, the menu is, confusingly, behind you written on chalk boards. I took a quick review of the menu and settled on one of the weekly Wednesday specials. The Order : 1 Chicken Club Sandwich with fries and a bottle of Coke. One of the ladies behind the counter started work right away on the sandwich and inquired if I would like it taken to my table where I could wait. Sure! Now with table service do I pay the cashier or wait for the server to bring it to me? I decided to be honest and head to the cash. Good thing I did, I was asked by the cashier what I ordered and paid for it. Twelve dollars and change for a club sandwich with fries and drink? I wasn't sure if the price was worth it. I sat down with my friend who kindly waited for my sandwich to arrive before eating. No worries though, my order arrived about 2 minutes later. The club sandwich was cut in fours and neatly stacked on top of the fries around the edges of the plate. Taste wise the white bread along with the tomato and lettuce was fresh. One of the better fresher tasting club sandwiches and well worth about the same price as the neighbouring pubs. The fries were freshly made with golden brown outside yet not crispy overcooked.
