"My husband and I have eaten here many times, when we owned a boat in the area. The owner, Gilles, is front of house. His wife,Sylvie, runs the kitchen. The service is colorful and friendly,even if you're not a regular. We love the atmosphere outside, sitting on the terrace under plane trees, with the Saone River flowing by.It is not a gourmet food experience. We think sticking with the simple food is best - salads, fries and steak haché (minced steak) are good bets.It's a brasserie with soul. If you're in St. Jean, stop in, share a carafe of wine or have a beer, and sit back and enjoy Gilles' entertainment."

"Une bonne adresse à Saint Jean de Losne, vous pouvez y aller les yeux fermés. Le grand sourire à l'accueil, servit en terrasse sans supplément. La nourriture excellente "du fait maison". Le prix plus que correct 17€ le menu avec choix de l'entrée au dessert en passant par le fromage. Une maison qui fait honneur à la cuisine française, c'est devenu rare..... mais pas ici !!!!"

"This came recommended by Le Boat with whom we had chartered Le Vision. Weather was terrible with some of the heaviest rain we had seen for a while. The snails for starters were good which we shared. Sadly their entrecôte was not available so had tartare(exactly how it should be prepared), beef bourginnone in the lightest of pastries(sublime) and a burger without bun and cooked rare to perfection.The rain was so heavy as we left that Madame kitted us all out in bin liners for our walk back to the port! We’ve booked in again for next Saturday when we return."

"We came to this restaurant on the strength of it's reviews and the pictures of the food on the website. The frosty maître de informed us that the pictures were 3 years old as if to excuse the poor food. Hubby ordered a fillet steak which was bloody and too tough to eat. It was accompanied with soggy, luke warm chips and floppy lettuce. My meal of beef cheeks was also luke warm and tasted microwaved from last week. We got the brush off when we questioned the food. Didn't get offered a discount for the inedible 20 euro steak. A sad meal for our last night at St Jean de Losne."
