"Just arrived home from what I have to say was the worst meal I've ever had the pleasure of paying for! My other half has been craving chicken for a couple of weeks so I suggested trying the coffin club as we've not been since it changed from holy smokes and I'd read good things. I now feel terrible as the best thing about the meal was the service! We arrived at 6.15 and ordered 2 pints and a sharing platter. The lovely young lady brought the drinks instantly. At 7.00 she came back and offered potato skins and coleslaw as there'd been a mix up in the kitchen and our meal wasn't ready. At 7.15 our sharing platter arrived, disappointed does not even come close to how we both felt. The beef brisket, pulled pork and burger were quite nice, however no sausage as stated on the menu, soggy chips, chilli beef that tasted like bolognese (no kick at all! , terrible ribs and according to my other half the only place he's ever eaten that can get chicken wings wrong! We did let the waitress know as we paid and she did let the kitchen know however all she could do was apologise. Not her fault at all and she dealt with our complaint very well. With so many restaurants vying for business in Sunderland city centre right now I can safely say this is one to be put down to experience. What a shame!"

"Visited the other day at lunchtime with a pal to have a catch up. It’s been a while since I was at the Blue Bell. Certainly pre-Covid. In that time the whole place has been refurbished and decorated. A new eating area outside with pergola tables looks really good, although we sat indoors. The young lady behind the bar was welcoming and friendly. A good range of drinks alcoholic non-alcoholic were available. Everywhere was clean and tidy and hand gel was available in several places. They’re clearly aware of visitors covid concerns. It’s good to see a proper ‘pub’ that isn’t a characterless chain pub. Definitely a good place to call into for a good pint and friendly staff."

"5 Star KFC You the best vegan/vegetarian burger out of all of the fast food restaurants it’s absolutely delicious, you should sell them in the supermarkets to enjoy at home along with your vegan Mayo they are beautiful. I have been vegetarian for 30+ years...so have tasted everything out there I would say after that long I know my stuff yours is the best! Well done Don’t ever take them away! "Our bums did not even touch the seats and we were asked what we wanted to drink. A minute later im still in the process of removing my jacket and the staff came back to ask what i wanted to eat!! I didnt even have a chance to look and see what colour the menu was never mind decide what i wanted to eat. After we told the staff that wed like a few more minutes... 5 minutes passed and we were asked another 5 times what we'd like to eat. The whole ordeal seemed like they wanted us in and out like a double cheese burger from mc donalds. The food came super fast like sonic chasing hoops. NOT FRESH, the freshest thing in that restaurant was the roker sea breeze. Avoid if you like food x"
