"To write this review, made me feel contradictory, on the one hand I want to tell everyone about this great restaurant called The Brock House, but on the other hand I want to keep this jewel a secret for me. But let us really be, it would be impossible to keep this place a secret, especially when you look at the growing food scene in the region of Durham, it was just a matter of time until this shooting star made its way into the spotlight. What's the food? Its pretty good, the roasted Calamari is crispy and well seasoned, the Brisket sandwich is generously packed and the pizzas are fantastically occupied and stuffed. This only covers what we have ordered, there is a ton more to choose and I look forward to trying the other items in the menu. What about the service? Excellent, we sat and served quickly. The staff was attentive and ensured satisfaction. If you find yourself in the area, you should definitely pass. Good food at great prices."

"When I went to hops for a night out of fun and dancing it quickly turned for the worst and went downhill. To start with The bouncers take their time letting people in so you have to wait in line for about an hour or more even if you are there at 9:45. When you get inside don't give your jacket to coat check the girls they gave my friends jacket to someone else and made her leave the place without her belongings. The manager was rude and didn't treat us like customers but instead treated us like we were dumb and wouldn't compensate us for loosing my friends personal belongings. The drinks are expensive and the place is really dirty. I wouldn't even give this place 1 star."

"The Lake Grill is truly a hidden gem in south Whitby. Always friendly. Accommodating for food likes and dislikes. Gourmet flavors made with expertise. Food is served HOT and fresh. Tasty and beautifully plated. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone."

"Went to Stanleys Fish and Chips for lunch. Always a favourite with myself and many friends in Brooklin. Ample parking and great seating. The fish is cooked to perfection. I had Halibut, Chips and Coleslaw. The fish is delicately battered and deep fried to such a great "crunch" factor meanwhile, ensuring the fish is moist and flavourful. Chips are so tasy - some with the skin still on and not the least bit greasy. I am a huge fan of their coleslaw as well. Sat by the window looking out at the Main Drag in Brooklin sipping a nice hot pot of tea on a freezing cold winter day. The staff are warm and friendly as ever and it is always a welcoming place to get quality food."

"High price of 11.75 for the small portion of halibut. It was a recent change for the portion to become small and the batter thin.... but it is worth it if you aren't too hungry."

"Ordered on Good Friday, which is usually crazy busy, but rec’vd it within an hour and even did a change to my order.Fish was amazing, best fish and chips! Family of 5 and not a bite left over!Highly recommend!"
