"One of my top favorites in DC. Wonderful service w/ an array of interesting menu options. I would give Palena a full star rating had it not been for their fish dishes which always seem to fall short for me. Good but nothing out of the ordinary. I have been, however, impressed with all other dishes. Dessert is to die for."

"Usually I go to restaurants with family or friends, however after vusiting a Gallery and neblina a lousy sandwuch I decided to have a good lunch at the bar of Modena! The best decisión because I experienced the best metal, without distractions! I dug into each course saviuring each spoonful of a delightful cauñifñower soup enhanced with crispy panceta, to start with. Followed by the star of my experience the crisp and tender octopus, I was so glad to be alone and just enjoying this magnificent dish! It was pared by a fresh concotion, prepared by Victor, thanks for your suggestions and guessing exactly what I needed to order. I would have been satisfied just with my soup and octopus, but I had ordered Tagluateli, this pasta was truly fresh, abs the bolognese was the best I ever had, had to take a break to continue enjoying every bite, the warm bread was there but I couldnt even uncover it by the white impeccable napkin. The buddino was good, however I am not much into desserts. Thanks Chef for coming to my seat and making sure the dishes were served with utmost care."

"We showed-up on time, waitress took our order minutes later. Food showed-up an hour later. The waitress never came around to ask if we needed anything. Told us the kitchens is closing and itâs last call for food. Yet our original orders werenât out yet. When the sushi showed-up everybodyâs order was on plates, we had figure out who ordered what. There was of us! The food was great but the service was terrible. Also, they charged a tip to the bill without telling us."
