"We had a working lunch here during the week. The staff were efficient and very friendly.The waiter suggested we move to a large table so we had room for our paperwork and folders.All 4 of us had a salad. Tuna, warm chicken and calamari and we all enjoyed them. Fresh and tasty. The coffee was also really good. The café is a little quirky, perfect location in Burke Rd Camberwell.What’s not to like?"

"I could sit there all day just eating cheese, or ham or olives, or Duck spring roles or.............The range is extensive both local, Aust & International. The senior staff have an extensive & reliable knowledge of their products and have yet to steer me wrong.After 3 years in the US dealing with Orange cheese with no taste, I knew I was home when I stood in front of their counter, was welcomed & served with a smile. And they knew what would suit my taste and provided a lovely product that satisfied my hunger."

"Box Hill is full of cheap Asian eateries so it's nice to see a slightly more upmarket restaurant appear. I visited with a large group - some of us loved the food and some thought it needed improvement. Personally I enjoyed it, the service was good, food tasty and would want to return to try their breakfast menu."

"The Butter Dish is a relatively new addition to the café culture of the Camberwell area. It's a little gem of a place. We had the following for breakfast, Soft scrambled eggs, chives, melting cheddar cheese, caramelized onions and sriracha mayo in a warm brioche Soft scrambled eggs , smoked salmon and rocket on sourdough They were both fantastic and full of flavour. The mushrooms on the side are also quite a delight. The winner in the menu however is the Croissant french toast, rose pana cota, baked rhubarb, meringue and white chocolate pieces. It is simply divine. The pana cota is simply perfect and well balanced. This is the item to have. Great food, location and the offering of a range of salads as a take away option makes the Butter Dish a place worth visiting."
