"Millcroft Inn and Spa is the perfect picture of white Canadian bourgie retiree getaway, but also an acceptably quiet stay for burnt out millennials who don 't mind a bit of occasional gaudy decor that 's reminiscent of the 60s old timey countryside. I don 't know why but there 's clearly foam and soap gathering outside the stream coming from the dam waterfall. That 's a worrying ecological sight. We had trouble figuring where the guest parking was. The signage is a little misleading; the second house in sight after driving in is actually the check-in, and we 're told you 're able to drive to the Croft suites and adjacent spa by driving over a wooden bridge in the same area. We stayed in the main manor, which contains the check-in desk and Headwaters restaurant. There 's a range of walkable trails on the property. The rooms are very comfortable. Exposed wood and marble counters of the bathroom give off a clean and rustic impression. The dining room could really use an upgrade in ambiance. There are horrid abstract paintings, tungsten lighting, and carpeting. They play oldies like Smoke gets in your eyes . The cuisine is decent but tries a bit too hard to be fine dining, (jus, roux, micro greens... but lacks the polish and perfection for the higher price point. I 'm not sure a millennial couple would pay $52 for scallops or $55 for a beef tenderloin steak a la carte because they 're just as ok eating a fancy pizza in bed. But anyway, we bought the $220 dinner package for convenience, and it came with a bottle of wine to enjoy in the hotel room. We enjoyed every dish with mushrooms in it however and recommend that. As a tourist I appreciated that they had Service is spectacular and i have no complaints on that front, but since my partner and I are extremely low key, so I would even wish that the staff didn 't keep asking us how things were going. I 'm totally happy to be left alone after ordering food. He forgot his toothbrush and was able to find one at the front desk. I really don 't like special treatment, though I noticed some older guests being more particular, like wanting a kettle in their room and etc."
