"Pizza looked fabulous. Pasta dishes were good. Waitress really nice. Caesar Salat needs some work. Very simple. Very relaxed atmosphere, no need to dress up. Service was a little slow, but waitress was apologetic and very nice. When booking asked if... it was a special occasion and I told them it was my birthday. It has never been recognized. So there is no point in asking this question."

"Burger was about room temperature cheese not melted and in the middle it was slightly underboiled. At least the frits were hot, so the one-star. Too bad I'm staying with Wendy's."

"Called ahead and ordered 1/2 dozen signature malasadas and 1/2 original malasadas. The shop is small, but very clean and was easy to find. The malasadas are fantastic. The passion fruit and custard ones are to die for, but the chocolate and apple crumble are also delicious. We loved them. Would recommend you try them for yourself. They also serve Portuguese Calde Verde and sandwiches."

"No pretensions here — just a commitment to offer good, reasonably priced diner food to customers. The diner tradition is a big thing in the U.S., far less so in Canada. but Angel's meets the requirement with inexpensive, attractively presented meals. On my list visit I tried the liver and bacon, for me one of the litmus tests for a diner, and it definitely made the grade. As for the dessert menu — well I warmly recommend the brandy cheesecake"

"Today was my second visit to Zen Garden. Both visits have been for lunch (my first visit was in January).As this is a vegetarian restaurant, I have tried my favourite 'meat items' with replacement veg-ingredients (to give myself a fair comparison to things I know and love).At Zen Garden, meat is basically changed out of dishes for things like seitan (wheat-meat made from gluten flour), tofu and mushroom.Both times I have found the actual vegetable content of dishes to be a bit sparse. And, as with most Asian restaurant food, it was salty (but no more than any other place).The server working there today explained the owner was on holidays and they were just helping out in the mean time. I'm not sure the temporary staff are super confident in what they are doing and the regular menu I remember from my first visit was vastly reduced...hopefully it will be back to normal when the owner is back.They offer pretty well everything on the menu for sale from the freezer in the shop.I don't think I will likely be returning anytime soon. It was OK but nothing outstanding. I would have hoped for less pre-packaged stuff and more fresh vegetables. I guess vegetarian does not necessarily equal healthy...They have a small off-street parking lot, the washrooms are clean. It really is an OK place, no complaints, just nothing special."
