"Just a short walk along the road from the Iglesia de Sanautonia de Padua on the town square (to the church take the road left to La Reina De Michoacan ice shop). Las Pinatas restaurant is on the left a few minutes on the street. Lady speaks English and hubby cooks us wonderfully fresh and delicious lunch with many fruit smoothes and milk shakes. The restaurant had just opened and looks to be the only of this style/quality in Chemax. We asked a local taxi boy if there was a place to eat and he sent us here. The whole city looked like a snapshot of 'real' Mexico and certainly we don't have any other tourists this afternoon to show some local little children happy and laugh about the 'Gringos' in the city. There was a traffic delay on the way back caused by three huge vultures that kept us waiting on the road while waiting for whatever there were two dogs that were just caught from the side of the road. Not pretty, but authentic."

"Excellent. The cheese empanadas are still being talked about by my family. The food is delicious and fresh. The lady makes it in this tiny kitchen...it's like eating at her house. The drinks are fantastic ...we had the chocolate milk one and the Mayan green one...the green one was really good. Pork is fantastic too and the place is adorable. And so underpriced!"

"This place is really only good if you sign up for a tour. I do not suggest 'stopping by '. You won 't get to see or do anything. We were fortunate enough to get to taste some chocolate and honey but we really wanted to learn/hear more about both. All this said, BUY THE HONEY. It is reasonable priced and if you want it for its great healing attributes you will pay an arm and a leg for it once you get home, if you can even find it. This is the Melipona honey. We bought one jar and the guy told us we would need 4 a year to get the benefits from taking it each day. Anyway... sign up for a tour for the best experience and buy all the honey! The 'cenote ' I think has seen better days too. It looked manmade. I am uncertain but there was a hose going down to it, it looked murky."
