"Enjoyed the beautiful setting and selection of fresh salads for lunch. We came back for tea and scones. The staff were friendly and the views, amazing. Very calm and soothing atmosphere when we were there."

"It is great having a small shopping centre a short distance from our house. The Sainburys supermarket offers a great selection but I also love that there is an Aldi. The fresh fruit veg is great value. There is a chemist, 2 banks, clothes shops, toy store, book store, gym cafes. There is free parking, a taxi rank, bus stops on the main road outside the centre. Also the bus that goes to the airport stops there. There are public toilets and the centre is clean. The two things I would ask the management to review.......ask the charity collectors utility sellers to stop shouting to everyone as they approach them stop people smoking at the entrance! "

"I'm not sure how to check this business. Although they have a large selection of items that cannot be bought anywhere, their rusts were very dry as their apricots that could be that some of their stock is far behind their sale date."

"I didn't even know this place existed until I was invited here for afternoon tea with a twist ' a rain, wet and terrible Saturday. turquoise thistle is a beautiful place, it felt especially at home when she walked out from the terrible day outside. the personal was friendly and I received a warm welcome. the room we showed was beautiful and spacious and we had the room for us. "Godson an English student at Edinburgh University had his here in one of the larger cellar rooms back pre-COVID. Brilliant location for around students in black tie and a handful of us adults. The place is well used to large groups and did us proud. Food, drinks all flowed and a great time was had by all. Afterwards there are lots of nearby late-night choices, including downstairs at the Little White Pig opposite."

"Worte can't describe my dear to this little brunch place. three and a half years ago my family and I visited edinburgh for the first time and met us at the southern cross cafe to breakfast. the cute decor, wonderful personal and amazing eating ensured a return visit to our second morning, which we almost never do, as we usually decide to try new places when we travel. I returned to edinburgh with friends. somehow I tracked this place and it wasn't disappointed. the decor was the same, eating and coffee as delicious. the personal had changed, but they were even more friendly! between my two friends and we shared the big belter, not knowing what we set ourselves up. enough to say we probably left a third of the plate behind us, although we put ourselves beyond our borders! in the grunde, go! I will spend every morning here when I visit this city:"

"Just eaten in the Bistro at my stay at the hotel. They had a really nice looking set menu for £15. I ordered black pudding and cured bacon salad. The poached egg was over cooked, and completely solid. For the first time iN MY LIFE (and I was 50 2 weeks ago) i sent it back. The replacement had a passable egg, but over cooked black pudding and 6 slivers of cremated bacon and virtually no salad dressing, leaving the packet bought croutons sucking any moisture out of your mouth. The main then arrived, grilled Scottish salmon on crushed new potato. The salmon was solid on the outside and tasteless on the inside, the potato was solid in places and kind of sliced rather than crushed. I couldn't eat more than a mouthful. Staff were pleasant but bemused, I was offered a sweet but by that time I had lost my appetite and really didn't want to risk it. Not charged for my pleasant glass of wine, which was the least they could do. My deliveroo has just arrived..."

"Stopped in here on Monday morning for breakfast before going to get a new tattoo on the high street. Lovely welcoming and helpful staff. I ordered the full breakfast and it was so good. Very nice coffee good quality breakfast. If I’m ever in the area I shall definitely be back! Lovely little place!"
