"So, after the Lebanese and Vietnamese (see other reviews) last night, we walked in the street descartes, without knowing where we were going to eat (no search for the last night) and at the departure of tb, the owner went out and explained his menu. He was very kind, not arrogant and not offended when we wanted to walk for a while. his conversation and the fact that the restaurant was almost full helped us make our decision, so we came back and we were happy to have done it. It's a comfortable place downstairs (dinners later than we took on the floor) with old photos and photos on all the walls that gave it character. Anyway, we had a fixed e23 menu, the food was excellent, my carpaccio entrance was one of the best I had and my wife's steak choice (with merchant sauce - a red wine sauce) was great. sprinkled with a few beers and a red that wasn't an idiot of money (e23 I think.) I had a good cheese tray, my wife a chocolate dessert that was very good. Antoine is a nice guy and it's a great restaurant, it allowed to finish our trip in a pleasant and relaxing way."

"This was our first visit to the Mayflower despite walking past on may visits over the years. Rather dark and only a dozen or so tables, once you find a vacant one you will stay for longer than planned. Good selection of Belgian beers, but try to time your visit with Happy Hour as this will save you a few Euros."
