"I gather this restaurant has had some ups and downs since opening with several chefs passing through hence the mixed reviews, the current chef is establishing this restaurant at a higher level and I hope he stays for the restaurants sake.The good points first, the ingredients were all of a very high standard, the cooking was also top notch, I have eaten in many Michelin starred restaurants and they have been no better, and the wine list is good value, the room is as good as they get with wonderful views down the River Lot and the tables are in no way cramped, and it is by current standards very good value.The slight grumbles, the menu is short to the point of it being difficult if you don't like fish for example to find more than one alternative for a starter, the wine list despite being quite well put together is also short, so much so that on our second night with two first choices either out of stock or finished there was little to replace with left on the list, but these issues can be easily and should be resolved making this a come to restaurant in the area, the service whilst very good was also a bit slow on one night, but these minor teething troubles as I think they are should not stop you visiting this restaurant and it makes staying at this hotel a very pleasant experience"

"Nous sommes arrivées vers 20h. Une demoiselle déguisée en serveuse nous prend la commande qui n'est pas compliqué vu que le dimanche soir vous avez 3 possibilités : le menu à 22€ ou un plat à la carte sans buffet ou partir ! Contraintes de prendre le menu à 22€... pour un dimanche soir c'est plutôt honereux surtout à Villeneuve... ceci dit les buffets sont attrayants et bons ! Le plat à l'ardoise un peu fané sur leur bain-marie ne sont pas vraiment appétissants mais nous n'enlevons pas le bon goût de la truites aux amandes. Nous discutons (le but d'un moment convivial dans un resto) et là la "serveuse" nous demande d'aller nous servir aux desserts avant qu'ils ne disparaissent! Mais elle nous fait remarquer qu'elle est gentille de nous le dire ! Nous prenons les desserts et regagnons notre tablée qui n'est toujours pas débarrassée des plats. Mon amie n'avait pas encore fini son dessert que la musique s'éteint !! Premier message passé mais il est 21h30 donc on se dit que nous n'abusons pas. Étant du métier on comprend.. mais la le manager je pense, viens nous dire mesdames nous allons fermé. Bon on.accelere le mouvement et la on vient nous prendre la carafe d'eau ! Mais la serveuse nous fait remarquer toujours pour passer pour la gentille que c'est que la carafe et pas les verres !!! Enfin bref mon amie va payer et la .. elle fait souligner au manager que c'est dommage de nous mettre à la porte que nous étions susceptibles de revenir mais que cela ne se fait pas Il nous réponds mais on ne vous met pas à la porte c'est marqué fermeture 21h30... Je lui fais remarquer que le coup de la radio qui s'éteint et de la carafe était très claire... il nous réponds que la musique s'éteint seule ! Premier resto équipée d'un minuteur. Ouf cela ne coupé pas l'électricité nous avons pu payer à la lumière ! Enfin bref à ne pas y aller ! Dommage il y a du potentiel."
