"Short of Expectations In booking a stay at a vineyard, I was hoping for more than just a room, I was hoping for a total experience. Unfortunately, Borgo Casa al Vento failed at both. As an experience, we checked in to an almost deserted property with a skeleton staff. The tasting room and vineyard tours were closed, as was the restaurant for one of our nights, leaving guests to scramble for hard-to-find reservations, or go grocery shopping. Throughout the stay, we felt like intruders on private property. As far as the room, it’s true the property is at a picturesque location, in perfectly quaint Chianti. The location cannot be beat. But the room missed several easy opportunities to make guests feel comfortable. Bottled water, coffee, and a mattress with leas miles on it would have made for a better experience. Overall, Casa al Vento was an opportunity for a perfect getawayan opportunity missed."
