"We had just arrived after an early morning flight, and badly needed food and drink. We were looking for something away from the tourist trap river bars, and stumbled on this very plain looking bar, the menu was written on a chalk blackboard and was very difficult to read. We were not drawn to it until we saw what a couple were eating. I politely asked what they were eating, and they said sit down its fabulous! The owner came over and I asked for exactly the same as the couple were having. We got talking to the couple who said they had lived in Tavira for 15 years, and this was their favourite lunch venue. We had a fabulous tomato salad (home grown by the owner) a plate of local cured and smoked ham, some superb toasted local bread, 3 beer, a glass of wine, and a coffee. Total cost 23 Euro! Fabulous. Don't walk by, sit down and enjoy wonderful food. We also came here most evenings for a G&T (local gin 3.50 Euro) before we went on elsewhere."
