"We’ve eaten at Vapianos in many locations abroad in the US and you may have, too. The concept is that they give you a card as you enter and your go to various food stations for pasta, pizza, salads, and other items. They take your...order, prepare the food freshly, and then you are buzzed when they are ready. You then pick up your order and take it back to whatever table you have chosen. The setting is very nice. The restaurant Is on the main square in Dresden, more or less across from the Frauenkirche. The indoor seating is fine, but they also have café-style outdoor seating so you can enjoy the square. This is all good, but the restaurant inside has an awkward design in the area where you order the food. The counters are in a narrower part of the restaurant at right angles to each other so there is a lot of confusion about where to stand and a kind of bottleneck. We were there when the restaurant was only about ¼ to 1/3 full, yet the counters seemed overwhelmed and the food took longer than it should. The setting is fine. The food at least decent, but the congested and generally slow ordering process was a let-down."
