"“Trattoria Siciliana” has a nice outside seating area in a patio protected from traffic noise. When we had lunch there on a sunny day in late summer, we were happy to sit under one of the large sunshades, which almost cover the entire court. The permanent menu did not stand out for its design but for its content and was complemented by a list of dishes of the week. It was comprehensive and more creative than that of most Italian-style restaurants in town. One could feel that the host was a native Italian. To the specialties of this place belonged about half a dozen “white pizzas”, i.e. pizzas without tomato mush in the middle layer. Among other things, we tried one of them, namely the “Pizza della casa”. It excelled by an extraordinarily thin dough, which was crispy at the edge. Everything tasted fine and was only slightly more expensive than similar dishes in many uninspiring imitations of Italian restaurants. Here, however, we had the additional advantage of a humorous and accommodating host, who almost gave us a little Italian lesson."
