"The food had good flavors, but the pasta was way under done. I understand that it’s fresh and they lean toward al dente, but my food was like chewing starchy gum. They did replace it (after waiting another 30 minutes) Value: not there. It’s fast casual pasta for upscale prices. Even for midtown. The way they price their wine is insane. Service: fantastic. Dawson was a bright spot for our evening. Customer flow: lol. They don’t utilize their space well. You have to fight to get inside and they were understaffed at the host desk. Overall, I would spend $10-$20 more per person for a more intimate experience. We spent $150 between 2 people for a mediocre night."

"I can't say enough good things about Maialino. First, the staff is top notch from the moment you walk through the door, to your server and wine service--impeccable. Food allergies? No problem and always attentive to my needs. As for the food, as an admitted carnivor that eats super low carb, let's just say that I was over the moon with their selection, quality products and perfect execution. I've had nearly all of their main courses, but to this day, always look forward to the roasted pig. Just wow! Another amazing meal at Maialino."

"Our server Peter made our dining experience something we will never forget. He went above and beyond and made our whole party (table of 6) feel like we were the only guests in the restaurant. "One of our favorite restaurants in Florence is Osteria del Cinghiale Blanco and we went to Ristoro del Cinghiale hoping for a slice of Florentine food and atmoshpere. What we got was a little short of that but this is a very good addition to the NY restaurant scene. The room is a nice rustic, with bar tables in the front and wood tables in the back. The staff greeted us with a smile and served us enthusiastically although slightly inefficiently. We found some good Tuscan wines by the glass and started with some delicious flavored salumi and excellent Tuscan style bread. Then we shared the risotto and the pappardelle cinghiale, both of which were excellent. The owner sat and talked with us for nearly 10 minutes. The room is conducive to easy conversation. For $60/pp, tax and tip included, the price was fair but not a bargain. We expect to return."
